Case Study: Office Refurbishment
An urgent upgrade was required for this tired office to host an official function. Our budget and time frame were tight, however with the help of a fabulous client, a great team of contractors, and a few sleepless nights for the designer we achieved our goal.
As our client was in the rail industry we utilised second hand railway sleepers as focal points in the reception area. The reception desk was designed with a Colorbond front and a huge sleeper shelf for interest. Sleepers were also used as shelving, a sculpture and a planter box on the stairs.
The original uninviting staircase was transformed by boxing in the railing and painting in a bold colour. The beautiful pendant lights look incredible suspended over the double height ceiling. They really help to create drama and interest in the space.
The original entry to the upstairs meeting rooms had you looking straight into the main "engine room" of the company. We solved that issue by designing a stud wall with cutouts in-filled with bright red Perspex. The wall now doubles as a viewing gallery of the company's portfolio and provides privacy for the team behind without looking like a giant bland wall.
The meeting rooms upstairs were given a new lease of life with custom made charcoal cabinetry and an injection of colour with the glorious green striped wall in the meeting room.
